Hello, my name is Lauren Avalos, I am in 8th grade and I am going to AdVENTURE. AdVENTURE is a stem based school located at Lenord Herman Intermidate School. I have being going to this program for all four years of the program (5th-8th). As my grade being the most familiar with AdVENTURE and what it is all about I can say without a dubt that AdVENTURE isn't a regular school. We learn with computers, we are encouraged to work with partners and have discussions in class, and at teh end of a unit we have a big project to am going to AdVENTURE.             Being an AdVENTURE student is a very big privilege and I have been lucky enough to go there for four full years. AdVENTURE gives children grades 5th-8th a chance to learn differently by being more hands on and colaborating more with class mates. This gives more kids a better chance to learn the way they need to. This means that not all kids can learn by lextures and textbooks and some kids need to learn  a different way that will be more effective to them. This is why AdVENTURE  is such a privilege because you won't get this style of teaching at a regular school.

 

            I started AdVENTURE in 5th grade and have beening going there ever since. At first it was a big difference from my old school to AdVENTURE but it was a good difference. Instead of being bored and unenvoled I was more engadged and focus in class becuase I was always doing something all the time and learning at the same time. AdVENTURE allows me to be a better student and has opened my eyes to many things I was unaware of, this is what AdVENTURE is all about. They are about giving students a good education, but not just that they are commited to giving each and every student 21st century skills you won't get in other schools. This has definetly rubbered off on me and my fellow class mates and we will be going in hig being an hschool next year with these skills and they are going to help us a lot.   

   

            You can say that AdVENTURE students means a lot of things which is true but there is one that is more important then any. That is techonlogy, it is a huge part of what AdVENTURE is, in fact, with out it it would be hard for AdVENTURE  to as hands on as it is. This is because we use technology in every class whether it is on google drive, edmodo, wix, jilster, etc. If AdVENTURE didn't have a technology part to it wouldn't really be any differnet than a normal school. This is becuase AdVENTURE offers a differnet style of learning and one of those ways they offer a differnt wya of learning is technology.

 

            AdVENTURE has done lots od things for me that a normal school won't have been able to provide for me, that is one of the main why I love AdVENTURE  ans why I think it is a good option for lots of people. AdVENURE  has not only given me a good education these last four years but it has also helped me grow as a person.  I was so lucky that I was able to go to AdVENTURE  for all four because I truly believe that I wouldn't be the same if I went to a different school.
